malignant: Describes diseases and conditions that are harmful to life or health, putting someone at risk of death.

mucin: Complex proteins found in saliva that combine with sugars in the mouth and may cause cavities.

mucocele: A swelling of the lower lip caused by trauma to a minor salivary gland in the lip.

mumps: A viral disease of the parotid glands that causes swelling and fever. Vaccinations to prevent the mumps are part of the childhood vaccination schedule.
