I don't want to take any prescription drugs. Are there other ways to treat dry mouth?

If you don't want to take saliva stimulants or other prescribed drugs, some natural ways to increase production of saliva include chewing gum and sucking on hard candy (sugar-free is best, to avoid getting cavities) and taking frequent sips of water. To aid dryness and cracking of the lips, you can use lip balm or a petroleum-based lipstick.
